For many student-athletes, the transition to a working professional is as tough as they come. These individuals are taught for years to perfect and master a sport with little, to no knowledge of the common day workplace. Many of these students are prevented from working internships and summer jobs, due to the rigorous schedule of maintaining the skills and intricacies required to compete at the highest level.
Many athletes don’t know that transition may be easier than they thought, and with the help of the right person(s) or mentor, a successful career outside of sports is just around the corner. The skills learned over 15+ years of athletics are what many employers and companies are looking for when it comes to their hiring process.
The Edge Program, with the help of former athletes of various backgrounds, will help assure athletes there is a path forward, when sports are no longer an option
